Chase Sexton proved without a doubt that dirt bike racing is 90% rider and 10% bike as he lined up on the gate for the 2013 Sunset Ridge 450B race on his SuperMini.
His bike is an 85cc bored out to a 112cc with modified wheels and he is able to pull off a second place start against a field of 450s.
Not only does he get a blinder start, but he manages to hang with the leader, eventually reeling him in and passing him.
It’s easy to see the power discrepancy as he has trouble clearing some of the larger jumps, but he makes up for it with unreal corner speed and creative line choices that eventually allow him to make the pass for the lead.
Watch out for Sexton on the professional scene sooner rather than later.
