Helicopter shoots are progressively becoming a thing of the past especially as drones have become more and more common in the media world.
This edit of Dean Wilson on his Monster Energy Kawasaki from 2011 shows why heli shoots will always have something on filming with a drone.
The riders love the exhilaration they get from jumping next to the helicopter, the angles achievable are much more manageable and straight forward, although the rig may be a tad more expensive.
Wilson throws some fat whips on this private track through huge sections of jumps and even some freestyle ramps.
It’s gotta be scary sitting upside down on a dirt bike in mid-air with a helicopter hovering nearby.
The action is absolutely incredible and shows why heli shoots are still an epic way to shoot action sports! To check out the incredible footage click the video!
That is sooo crazy. More crazyness in the next video below!
